Hey everyone,
Thanks for checking out our website. I am not a veteran, but our families and friends are full of vets who served in WWII, Korea, Vietnam, and the Middle East. There is no better feeling than honoring our nation and our veterans.
I have been part of the La Crosse musical community for 20 years. In 2018, I had an idea to call on my musician friends to create a one-day Musicfest to raise funds for veteran causes. Many of the bands that play at our festival have veteran musicians in them, and they are especially willing to play. In the last 9 years, we have had 42 bands/performers play our 2 stages on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend. That 42 number is even with us skipping 2020 because of you know what.
100% of our revenue after expenses goes to accredited veteran charity organizations. Camp American Legion was a recipient for the first few years, and since 2023, the La Crosse Freedom Honor Flight has been our single recipient. In 2025, we were able to give the La Crosse Freedom Honor Flight $15,000. Recently, I ran into one of the vets from the May 2025 flight who told me, “It was the best day of my life.” Enough said.
None of this would be possible without the members of Post 417, French Island American Legion, where our annual event is held. They work very hard, including many volunteers, to pull this off. Our sponsors’ contributions have made a huge difference in what is left over at the end of the day, so we are extremely grateful to them, especially the ones that have been with us every year since we started.
I just wanted to say hello and thank all of you who purchased tickets and attended this great event.
Kind regards,
Dustin Lamm
